Run Into the Night

about

An ode to those summer nights and summer loves that seem inseparable in memory, Run Into the Night is a summertime banger arriving just in time. Its themes and lyrics straddle the boundary between a reminiscent love song and an all-out bonfire party anthem.

Sonically, Run Into the Night is an indie-pop band’s take on EDM. With pulsing synths, heavily-processed guitars, and a memorable melody soaring above it all, the song bobs and weaves through in-your-face hooks and subdued, intimate moments. When it all falls apart in the syncopated drum-and-guitar bridge, it explodes again into a final chorus that wraps up just soon enough to beg for another play.

Written and produced over Zoom during the worst of the pandemic, Run Into the Night erupts with a cabin-fever craving for better weather and better times.

lyrics

Picked me up in your dad’s VW
Never seen something like that
Top down with the tape deck playing
Bumping some Paramore track

I’m feeling better than I have in a long time
And I love it cause it's gonna be a good night
Grab some cheap wine
Text the weed guy
Then we’re hitting up the bonfire

I don’t know what’s gotten into you
But you’re giving me eyes and I wanna come through

I’ve been on a high
Feel your summertime
Living for the longer nights with you
Bonnie to my Clyde
Run into the night

Woke up in that old VW
Never felt something like that
Left my hoodie on the dashboard
Not sure when I’m ever getting that back

On the clock with a migraine, I’m saying
Wouldn’t trade it for a thing let’s do it again
Something so sweet
Pure dopamine
Now you got me making plans for the next week

I don’t know what’s gotten into me
But you’re in my head, you’re stuck like a melody

I’ve been on a high
Feel your summertime
Living for the longer nights with you
Bonnie to my Clyde
Run into the night

I’ve been on a high
Feel your summertime
Living for the longer nights with you
Bonnie to my Clyde
Run into the night

I don’t know what’s gotten into you
But you’re giving me eyes

I’ve been on a high
Feel your summertime
Living for the longer nights with you
Bonnie to my Clyde
Run into the night
Run into the night
